160 Pupils were engaged in the WEEE BEHAVE Educational Sessions in the Pian del Bruscolo Area
On Friday, October 31st, two educational sessions of the WEEE BEHAVE Pilot Action took place in the territory of the Union of Municipalities of Pian del Bruscolo (Italy) as part of the EWAsTER project.
The activities were held at the “Fabio Tombari” Primary School in Padiglione (Tavullia) and the “Carlo Alberto Dalla Chiesa” Primary School in Bottega (Vallefoglia), involving the fourth and fifth-grade pupils for a total of 160 children.
The sessions, organized and supervised by the Project Manager Enrico Anghileri, were led by Stefano Pirazzoli from Ludoteca del Riù, and aimed to explain what WEEE (Waste from Electrical and Electronic Equipment) are, why they can be harmful to the environment, and how proper recycling and reuse contribute to a more sustainable and circular economy.
The educational meetings were characterized by a lively and participatory atmosphere, with pupils enthusiastically engaging in the discussions and activities. The event was also briefly greeted by Senator Palmiro Ucchielli, Mayor of Vallefoglia, who highlighted the importance of building environmental awareness from an early age.
The initiative, coordinated by the Union of Municipalities of Pian del Bruscolo within EWAsTER, represents the first phase of the WEEE BEHAVE Pilot Action, which will continue on December 3rd with a friendly competition among the participating classes, organized in collaboration with Marche Multiservizi, to collect and properly dispose of small WEEE.
The activity received very positive feedback from both schools and students, confirming the value of educational and engaging approaches in promoting responsible environmental behavior among younger generations.
