The EWAsTER Project was featured in the official programme of Europe’s leading green technology fair — the 28th edition of ECOMONDO in Rimini!
The leading international event in Europe and the Mediterranean basin for the green, blue and circular economies, organized by Italian Exhibition Group (IEG), opened on 4th of November with more than 1,700 exhibitors in attendance, of which 18% foreign, 380 hosted buyers from 66 countries, over 30 official delegations and about 90 international industry associations.
Day 1 – Rimini, 4th of November 2025
An amazing and emotional first day for participating partners of the project #EWAsTER at Ecomondo 2025. Thanks to the Marche Region, the project had an exhibition stand as well as a seminar was held at Tulipano Room Hal B6 dedicated to promote the transitions to a circular and recourse efficiency economy creating a sustainable model for WEEE, prevention e-waste from polluting Mediterranean waters. Chaired by the Lorenzo Federiconi and Massimo Sbriscia on behalf of Marche Region, our fantastic host partner, the seminar brought together stakeholders, policy makers, opinion leaders, local authorities, research bodies and institutions, etc.

Day 2 – Study visits in Marche region, 5th of November 2025
The second day of the fair was planned as study visits, exploring real-world examples of circular economy and sustainable waste management across the Marche Region.
The first stop was in Pesaro, study visits organized in collaboration with Unione dei Comuni Pian del Bruscolo (UCPB):
- LUDOTECA RIÙ — A creative reuse playroom where waste becomes learning. Thanks to Marche Region’s Law 24/2009, these spaces inspire children (and adults!) to rethink materials and give them new life ➝ https://www.regione.marche.it/Entra-in-Regione/Ludoteche-regionali-Riu/Pesaro
- Vallefoglia – Montecchio Separate Waste Collection Center — A tangible example of efficient resource recovery, where paper, plastics, metals, electronics, oils, batteries and more are sorted for reuse and recycling ➝ https://www.comune.vallefoglia.pu.it/novita/visualizza/contenuto/citta-di-vallefoglia-centro-di-raccolta-differenziata-di-montecchio-ampliati-gli-orari-di-apertura
The late afternoon, the journey continued in Ancona, supported by the Territorial Assembly of Ambit ATO2 (ATA Rifiuti):
- Evolution Tech (Chiaravalle) — Giving new life to laptops, smartphones, tablets, cameras and consoles through electronic regeneration ➝ https://www.evtc.it
- ATA Rifiuti — Sharing impactful results from school-based education programs focused on reducing and correctly collecting e-waste ➝ https://www.atarifiuti.an.it
- Riciclato Circo Musicale — Closing the day with music performed on instruments created from reused electronic components! https://www.riciclatocircomusicale.it/index.php?page=home_en

During our study visit in the Marche region, we experienced something absolutely unforgettable — a meeting with the extraordinary Italian music group Riciclato Circo Musicale. Formed in 2006, this band is made up of four musicians from completely different musical backgrounds, yet united by one powerful passion: experimentation, creativity, and sound exploration. They build their instruments from recycled materials and everyday objects! From old household items, appliances, toys and technological waste, they create a new world of sound — a musical universe they call “Elettrodomestica”. Their motto says it all: “Don’t throw away anything. Just PLAY IT!” This encounter reminded us that creativity has no limits — and that sustainability can be playful, artistic, and inspiring.

Two days takeaway?
Circularity isn’t just a concept — it’s hands-on, local, educational, and creative!
