Marche Region showcases Circular Innovation in Rome

On 15 May 2026, the EWAsTER project was represented at the 2nd Interreg Euro-MED Italy Forum in Rome through the active participation of the Marche Region, strengthening the project’s visibility within the Mediterranean cooperation ecosystem and reinforcing its role in advancing sustainable and innovative waste management solutions.

Organised by the Italy National Contact Point for the Interreg Euro-MED Programme and hosted at the FH55 Grand Hotel Palatino in Rome, the Forum brought together project partners, institutional actors and regional stakeholders from across Italy to create synergies, exchange experiences and build stronger strategic cooperation networks. The event aimed to transform ideas into practical actions through participatory dialogue and collaborative working sessions.

As an Italian partner of EWAsTER, the Marche Region was warmly invited to participate in this important gathering and represented the project through Lorenzo Federiconi, who actively contributed to thematic discussions throughout the day.

During the morning session, Marche Region participated in the workshop on Nature-Based Solutions and Ecosystem Restoration, dedicated to capitalising on and transferring project results through the Interreg Euro-MED Academy framework. The discussions focused on promoting successful practices and strengthening knowledge transfer among projects and territories.

In the afternoon, participation continued within the Strengthening an Innovative Sustainable Economy Mission working table, where stakeholders discussed future priorities, emerging needs and collaborative pathways for sustainable development across the Mediterranean area.

A particularly significant moment for EWAsTER was the presentation of the Action Plan and the outcomes of the 0WEE Procure Pilot Action, which attracted considerable interest from participants and generated valuable exchanges with other organisations and project representatives. The presentation highlighted concrete approaches and practical solutions developed within EWAsTER, demonstrating the project’s potential contribution to strengthening circular economy practices and more sustainable management of electronic waste streams.

EWAsTER’s presence at the Forum confirms the project’s commitment to fostering cross-border cooperation and transforming innovative ideas into tangible impacts. Through partners such as Marche Region, EWAsTER continues to build bridges between territories, institutions and stakeholders working toward a more sustainable and resilient Mediterranean future.
