Designed for the general public and key target groups, the publication transforms the project’s activities and results into a clear, engaging and easy-to-read story. Through concise texts, striking visuals, infographics and key figures, it presents how eWAsTER has contributed to tackling the growing challenge of electronic waste across the Mediterranean.
From challenge to action
Electronic waste is one of the fastest-growing waste streams worldwide, creating significant environmental, social and economic challenges. Against this backdrop, eWAsTER brought together 10 partners from 8 Mediterranean countries to develop and test practical solutions for preventing, reducing, reusing and better managing e-waste.
The Publishable Summary presents the project’s three main pilot actions:
- WEEE BEHAVE – engaging schools and communities in e-waste prevention and environmental education;
- WEEE REUSE – promoting repair, refurbishment and reuse while creating new social and economic opportunities;
- WEEE PROCURE – supporting municipalities and public authorities in adopting more circular approaches to procurement.
A story of people, partnerships and impact
Beyond numbers and activities, the publication highlights the people and communities behind the project. It showcases how students, teachers, municipalities, businesses, public authorities and environmental stakeholders worked together to turn awareness into practical action.
The results demonstrate the potential of cooperation and innovation to create lasting change — from encouraging more responsible consumption and extending the life of electronic devices to supporting circular business models and greener public practices.
The publication also looks beyond the project itself, highlighting the tools, knowledge and experiences that can continue to be used and transferred by Mediterranean communities after the end of eWAsTER.
